Libertas Center for Human Rights

The Libertas Center for Human Rights is a multidisciplinary program providing comprehensive, trauma-informed services for survivors of torture. Using a client-centered approach, the Center provides coordinated and specialized medical, mental health, social, and legal services to individuals who have survived persecution in their countries of origin. In addition, the Center raises awareness about torture survivors to medical providers and physicians-in-training, and has initiated research projects to quantify the scope of their needs in the community. The Libertas Center places torture survivors and their communities at the center of its work, recognizing their great capacity for resilience.
